Active Shooter Training prepares us to survive the worst. It reduces panic and saves lives. Because active shooter incidents are often over within 10-15 minutes, responding quickly is crucial. There’s no time to weigh your options. The Department of Homeland Security states that the best way to effectively respond to an active shooter and help minimize loss of life is to create an Emergency Action Plan and conduct training exercises.
Plan to Survive
Maryland Center for Hospitality Training will work with you to develop Active Shooter Training for your workplace. Your building will be evaluated to create evacuation strategies and identify safe hiding places. We consider the unique needs of your staff and clients, because we recognize that the options will differ depending on age and abilities. Your plan will be developed for your needs.
Train to Survive: Run, Hide, Fight
Drilling for an Active Shooter eliminates the indecision that can immobilize people in a crisis. You’ve probably heard “Run, Hide, Fight.” It’s easy to remember words, but takes practice to put them into action when under the stress of an active shooter event. The Maryland Center for Hospitality Training will lead your employees through the practice they need.
Developing an awareness of their surroundings and the people around them, employees will learn to recognize dangers and quickly discern the safest course to follow. Multiple exit routes will be identified, and we drill in evacuating from different locations in your building. Everyone needs to be familiar with all exits and know how to access them if they are blocked from their usual route. Remaining calm and evacuating quickly saves lives.
MCHT will show you how and where to hide when evacuation is not possible. Your employees will be equipped with the knowledge of which spaces are safest and how to secure entry points. They’ll know how to position themselves defensively and avoid entrapment.
We train for multiple scenarios, so that, in an Active Shooter event, you and your employees will already know the fastest and safest exit routes, the most protected hiding places, and which they should choose. As a last resort, you’ll learn when and how to fight back.
Our training includes learning what to expect when law enforcement and emergency medical responders arrive on the scene and how to interact with them in ways that promote everyone’s safety. By teaching and drilling your employees how to respond, they will be able to react quickly and calmly, reducing injuries and loss of life. Your employees will be trained to survive.

In competitive markets, Customer Service is an element that sets a business apart. Feeling valued as a customer boosts sales, improves positive reviews, and leads to customer loyalty. Providing exceptional customer service requires more than having designated Customer Service agents. It requires a fully trained staff ensuring your customers receive the attention and care they desire.
Conflict is inevitable. Everyone brings their own expectations, values, personalities and histories to work with them. Those differences are a source of strength and creativity. They’re also a source of conflict. Conflict will happen, but conflict, in and of itself, is not a bad thing. Handled correctly, it is an opportunity to learn and grow.
